Adam Schriemer – Interim Co-Head Coach
“Overall, I thought it was a pretty aggressive game. Both teams tried taking a lot of risks – mainly on serves. I thought that showed early in the first set. The highlight of the match is when Isaiah [Olfert] (Winnipeg) got on a run. He was able to mix in a lot of variations with his serves, and then we were able to create some separation in the first set.
“These matches are tough to play when both teams are aggressive as there’s not a lot of chances to build rallies. When they do come, it’s important to execute because there’s so few of them.
“I think the challenge for us is to stay mentally engaged, and show toughness when teams play aggressively against us. Overall, happy we were able to get the win – it’s always good to protect home court.”
