LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western outside Piers de Greeff (Victoria, B.C.) has been named the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week, with 25 kills, and three blocks to help lead the No. 3 Spartans to a weekend road sweep against the MacEwan Griffins in Edmonton, Alta.
On Friday night the Human Kinetics student helped lead the Spartans to a 3-0 win with 10 kills, one block and one dig. Then on Saturday night, in the Spartans 3-1 win, de Greeff had 15 kills, three assists, two blocks and one ace.
De Greeff and the 2-0 Spartans will now match-up with the Brandon Bobcats in their Canada West home opener on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26. The Friday match starts at 7 p.m. (PT) and the Saturday match is set for 6 p.m. (PT) at the Langley Events Centre. Both matches can be seen live on Canada West TV.
