LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western middle Jackson Corneil (Surrey, B.C.) has been named the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after helping to lead the Spartans to a split with the UBC Okanagan Heat this past weekend at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C.
On Friday night the fourth-year political science student lead the Spartans to a 3-1 win with eight kills, three digs, and eight blocks. Then on Saturday night, Corneil had nine kills, five blocks, and one dig in the Spartans’ 3-1 loss to the Heat.
Corneil and the No. 6 Spartans, 5-3, will now head on the road to match up with the Thompson Rivers WolfPack, 2-4, in Kamloops, B.C. on November 22-23. Match times are set for 5:30 p.m. (PT) and 3 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on Canda West TV.
