LANGLEY, B.C. –Trinity Western’s Henry Rempel (Swift Current, Sask.) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after averaging 5.3 kills per set while hitting .431 percent, to help the Spartans earn a weekend split with the No. 5 Saskatchewan Huskies this past weekend at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C.
In Friday night’s 3-1 loss, the fourth-year outside hitter had 17 kills while hitting .256, with eight digs, and a service ace. Then on Saturday night, the Human Kinetics student put on an outstanding performance to lead the Spartans to a 3-0 win. Rempel hit at .690, with zero attack errors (20-0-29) in the win.
Rempel currently leads Canada West in kills/set at 4.54, is second in total kills with 177, and is 13th in aces per set at 0.33.
The Spartans will finish the fall semester matches next weekend against the TRU WolfPack in Kamloops, B.C. The matches at 7:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. can be seen live on Canada West TV.
