It’s the third straight match day for the Avalanche who will end their regular season schedule on Sunday. So far this weekend they have split their matches with the CBC Bearcats coming off a fifth set thriller on Saturday. They dropped the first two sets before roaring back to take the next two but ran out of gas losing 15-10 in the fifth. Regardless of the outcome they will finish fourth heading into the postseason and will host a semi-final in two weeks against the VIU Mariners.
The Royals are also playing their third match in as many days. They are coming off back-to-back wins over the Capilano Blues and will play in their final match of the regular season today. They have already qualified for the playoffs and will face the Camosun Chargers in two weeks in a semi-final. In the seasonal series with the Avalanche the Royals are 2-1.

This is the final match of a very busy weekend in PACWEST volleyball as the Royals host the Avalanche.
For the second place Avs, today marks their third straight match and they are riding high after back-to-back wins on Friday and Saturday. As a matter of fact, they have won three in a row and are 3-2 on this massive road swing to finish the regular season. They have already clinched the second spot in the standings and will host a semi-final in two weeks.
The Royals will also wrap up their regular season schedule playing in their third straight match of the weekend. They currently sit tied for third with the VIU Mariners but following this match the Mariners will have two matches in hand. The Royals must win today and hope the Mariners lose both matches next weekend in order to finish third. If the Royals lose today they will finish fourth and face the top ranked Camosun Chargers in a semi-final in two weeks.
