With the reopening of the Government of Ontario’s Step 3 measures, there are new guidelines for individuals looking to participate and spectate at upcoming OVA volleyball tournaments. A full reference guide is available here for more details and information on the OVA’s guidelines.
Here are some of the important notes for OVA members moving forward in Step 3:
Masks
Face masks must be worn at all times. The only exception are the athletes when on the court for training or competition. Masks can be removed temporarily when consuming food and drink.
Capacity Limits
For indoor competition, there is a capacity limit of 50%. Clubs are still asked to confirm with facilities they are using to confirm the limit.
Physical Distancing
Physical distancing is no longer required in the field of play and spectator areas.
Proof of Vaccination
Proof of vaccination remains as it was prior to the return to Step 3.
Proof is required for everyone ages 12 and up. Patrons must present an enhanced vaccine certificate with a QR Code, which can be scanned using the Verify Ontario App. Vaccine receipts without a QR code are no longer accepted as a valid proof of vaccination.
Exemptions include:
- Children under 12, those who were born in 2010 and are 12 years and 12 weeks or age or younger.
- Those who have a valid exemption. To obtain your medical exemption, please click here.
Note that printed-out medical exemptions without QR codes are no longer accepted.
Contact Tracing is also no longer required.
