Queen’s Women’s Volleyball cap off the weekend with another win

KINGSTON, Ont. (Jan. 20, 2024) – Queen’s Women’s Volleyball defeat York in 4 sets (25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 25-19) Saturday night at the ARC.

While the Lions came out hungry for a comeback, the Gaels delivered another strong performance on their home court to conclude the double-header weekend in 4 sets.

Shea Baker recorded 38 assists, reaching the milestone of her 1000th career assist. In a post-game interview, she commented on the achievement. “It’s really exciting,” she shared. “I knew the milestone was coming up, so I am definitely going to celebrate it!”

Mary Stewart led the scoreboard with 16 kills, 15 digs and 6 aces. When asked her thoughts on the team’s performance, Stewart stated, “I think we brought a lot of energy and our serving was very consistent and very hard. It’s all about mindset, and we have to be dominant to stay on top.” 

With the victory, the Gaels improved their record to 11-2 on the season. The Gaels are back in action, Friday Jan. 26 at 6:00 PM to take on the McMaster Marauders at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC).
