Queen’s Women’s Volleyball bounce back with straight sets win over York

Queen’s Women’s Volleyball bounced back from their five-set loss to the York Lions Friday with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-24, 27-25) victory over the Lions Saturday, splitting their road doubleheader in Toronto, Ont.

Mary Stewart led the way for the Gaels with a game-high nine kills and 14 digs.

Kennedy Millin led Queen’s with 29 assists while adding 11 digs and three aces.

Aimee Lemire finished with nine kills and two blocks while Amanda Siksna recorded eight kills and two blocks in the win.

With the win, Queen’s improved their record to 6-4 and now sit tied with the TMU Bold for sixth in the OUA standings, just a half-game behind the fifth-place Windsor Lancers (7-4). The Gaels will return to the court next weekend, hosting the Lancers in a doubleheader, Friday, Jan. 13 and Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Athletics and Recreation Centre.
