Queen’s Women’s Volleyball defeated the Rams 3-1 Saturday at the ARC to complete the sweep of their season-opening doubleheader.
After the Rams took the first set 25-21, the Gaels won the next three sets (25-23, 25-15, 25-11) for the four-set win.
Rachael Meilikhan (Toronto, Ont.) led Queen’s with a game-high 11 kills, while Lauren Mellon (Oakville, Ont.) and Mary Stewart (Uxbridge, Ont.) had 10 kills each. Meilikhan also tied for the team lead in digs with Arielle Palermo (Burlington, Ont.) with nine each.
Shea Baker (Vancouver, B.C.) finished the game with a game-high 32 assists and also had an impressive six aces for the Gaels.
Queen’s is back in action next weekend, taking on the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m.
