Queen’s Men’s and Women’s Volleyball will start the OUA Playoffs on the road this week, with the Men’s team visiting the York Lions and the Women’s team visiting the Western Mustangs.
Queen’s Men’s Volleyball finished the OUA regular season fifth in the OUA standings with an 11-9 record. The team will open their quest for the Forsyth Cup against the Lions on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. in Toronto, Ont.
The Gaels faced York twice in the regular season, losing both matchups. Queen’s lost 3-0 (23-25, 26-28, 23-25) on Jan. 6 and 3-0 (22-25, 23-25, 19-25) on Jan. 7 on the road against the Lions.
Queen’s Women’s Volleyball finished the OUA regular season seventh in the OUA standings with an 11-9 record. The Gaels will open their quest for the Quigley Cup against the Mustangs on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. in London, Ont.
Queen’s and Western met twice in the regular season, splitting the series. In a doubleheader played at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC), Queen’s edged Western 3-2 (13-25, 25-20, 16-25, 25-23, 15-10) in Game 1 on Feb. 3 before falling 3-1 (17-25, 25-19, 15-25, 25-27) in Game 2 on Feb. 4.
