Queen’s Men’s Volleyball secures win in straight sets over York to kick off double-header weekend

KINGSTON, Ont. (Jan. 19, 2024) – Queen’s Men’s Volleyball defeats York in straight sets (25-20, 25-23, 25-17) Friday night at the ARC.

The match was intensely competitive, with Queen’s showcasing exceptional skill and resilience in each set to secure a well-deserved victory.

In a standout performance, Erik Siksna and Zig Licis led the team in kills with 8 each, closely followed by Reed Venning with 7 kills. Serving up aces, Siksna dominated with 4, supported by Dax Tompkins with 3, and Zig Licis contributing 1.

With the victory, the Gaels improved their record to 9-3 on the season. Queen’s is back on the court again tomorrow, Saturday, January 20 at 8:00 P.M, to take on the York Lions at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC).
