Queen’s Men’s Volleyball lost 3-1 to the Toronto Varsity Blues Sunday in Toronto, Ont., their first loss of the regular season this year.
The Gaels (No. 5) fell 16-25, 28-30, 25-16, 17-25 to the Varsity Blues (No. 6) to drop their record to 5-1. The Varsity Blues improved to 5-1 with the win.
Lachlan McBride (Vancouver, B.C.) and Erik Siksna (Markham, Ont.) led the Gaels with nine kills each in the loss. Liam Wilson (Toronto, Ont.) led Queen’s with 24 assists and a game-high three aces.
After Sunday’s result both teams are now tied for second in the OUA East. Queen’s defeated Toronto 3-0 earlier this season.
The Gaels return to action next weekend at the ARC, hosting the Nipissing Lakers Saturday at 3 p.m. and the Trent Excalibur Sunday at 3 p.m.
