Weekend Story
 
KAMLOOPS – For the third week in a row the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women’s volleyball team will be back in the TCC this week as they get set to host the TWU Spartans.

The WolfPack (6-10) will host the Spartans (14-2) – who enter the weekend ranked No. 4 in the country –  at 5:00 p.m. on  Thursday and 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The games are make-up games that were originally scheduled for December 2 and 3 before being postponed.
 
TRU enters the weekend after a string of strong performances to start their second semester schedule. Splitting a pair of games with the UBC Okanagan Heat last weekend, the ‘Pack are 4-2 since the winter break.
 
It was a 3-0 win on Friday as Addison Witkowski was named the WolfPack Athlete of the Week in part for her four kill, five block and four dig performance in the game. UBCO rebounded to take the second match by an identical score of 3-0 on Saturday.

Ranked as one of the top teams in the country throughout the entire season, TWU took care of the 1-17 Brandon Bobcats last weekend. The Spartans took both matches at home in straight sets. 

The Spartans won both games that these teams played in Langley last season. Both of the regular season matches that TRU has won over Trinity Western have come at home.
 
By The Numbers
 
3.53 & 3.44: In a battle between two of the best attackers in the conference, Maryn Boldon of TWU and her 3.53 kills-per-set and TRU’s Brooklyn Olfert with 3.44 enter the weekend in third and fourth in the conference respectively.
 
1.33: Middle Natalie Funk of the Spartans is a force to be reckoned with as she is currently first in the conference in blocks-per-set.
 
1: With a record of 6-10, the ‘Pack are just one game out of a playoff spot.
