PICCININ, ENDES NAMED OUA ALL-STARS

Published on

York University Lions women’s volleyball players Christina Piccinin and Amarai Endes have been honoured for their significant level of play in the regular season. Piccinin has been tapped as an OUA first-team all-star, whereas Endes was named an OUA second-team all-star.

Piccinin enjoyed a successful 2022-23 campaign in her second full OUA season as a Lion, and her fifth collegiate volleyball campaign.

The McGill transfer was efficient with her attacks over the course of the year, ending the regular season as one of the best in the league in that category. She posted a .330 percentage, second in the OUA.

Piccinin, who stands at 6’0″, also posted a seventh-place finish in the solo blocks category, stuffing attackers 20 times.

Endes played out her second year as a Lion and earned significant honours in stat categories.

A breakout performer on the defensive side of the ball, Endes is third in the OUA in blocks per set at 1.0, was second in solo blocks with 27, and led the OUA in total blocks with 70. She also added 16 service aces on the season, 25th in the conference in that category.
