In Europe, MVP Gabi Guimaraes led VakifBank to their fifth continental title on Sunday. In a rematch of the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship final, Turkish giants Vakifbank defeated Conegliano in four sets 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21), despite a 39-point haul by Conegliano’s Paola Egonu. Vakifbank were also victorious in the global competition in December when they defeated their Italian rivals 3-2 (25-15, 22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-7).
