ST. CATHARINES – Right side Sadie Dick tallied double-digit kills for the fifth consecutive game and the No. 3 Brock Badgers swept the York Lions in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) women’s volleyball action at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 28.
Dick, a second-year Child and Youth Studies student from St. Catharines, posted 13 kills to lead all hitters as the Badgers blanked the Lions 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 27-25) for a second consecutive evening.
The Badgers were pushed late in the third set before senior middle Grace Pyatt and second-year outside hitter Emily Foest came up with a key block and back-to-back kills to seal the victory.
Pyatt led all players with four blocks while Foest registered 10 kills. Senior setter Sara Rohr contributed 31 assists and six digs.
Second-year left side Madison Chimienti added nine kills and nine digs. Third-year libero Aleiah Torres recorded a game-high 14 digs.
Brock’s defence held York to a .126 hitting percentage (25-21-111). The Badgers hit .261 (45-14-119) overall with a set-high of .325 in the first.
