KAMLOOPS – Helping lead his team to three wins in three days Anton Napolitano has been named the Canada West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week by the conference Tuesday.
Napolitano did a little bit of everything for the WolfPack over the weekend as the fifth year from Australia powered the ‘Pack to victories of 3-0, 3-2 and 3-1 over the Fraser Valley Cascades in Abbotsford.
The education major racked up 20 kills, 51 assists, seven blocks, 33 digs and six service aces over the three games.
Originally from Melbourne, AUS, Napolitano was the perfect utility man on Friday. He had six kills, 18 assists, 11 digs and four blocks as the WolfPack swept on the Cascades 3-0.
Racking up 18 assissts and another 11 digs in a 3-2 marathon victory on Saturday, Napolitano saved his best for last for Sunday. He hit 9-20 in the match and added three solo blocks and two service aces to help the Wolfpack record the sweep.
The fifth year set a little history in the process. With his six service aces he moved into the 18th in Canada West history and second in program history with 99 career aces.
Napolitano and the ‘Pack will host a trio of games inside the TCC this weekend, beginning with a mid-week clash Wednesday night when they host the Fraser Valley Cascades at 5:00 p.m.
