THURSDAY

Capilano Blues @ Douglas Royals – Thursday November 9, 8:00pm | WATCH HERE

The Royals and Blues meet for the first time this season and have plenty to prove as they move through their PACWEST schedules.

In back-to-back matches last weekend, the Royals went to a fifth set at the College of the Rockies but fell both times. Coming into this home weekend with the Blues they are playing .500 and will look to take advantage of their only home stand in November. Owen Lam has been incredible so far this season with a PACWEST high 106 kills in 25 sets played. The Royals will need to start to balance out their attack so teams don’t key on Lam.

The Blues have lost four straight, all at home, coming into this weekend and make their first road trip. They are coming off back-to-back losses to the Camosun Chargers and need a win to collect some confidence. Dario Pereira currently leads their offence with 38 kills.

FRIDAY

CBC Bearcats @ COTR Avalanche – Friday November 10, 8:00pm | WATCH HERE

The first place Avalanche play their second straight at home after beating the Douglas Royals last weekend in back-to-back matches in five-sets. They sit atop the PACWEST standings with five wins, three of them needing a fifth set. Diego Policarpo leads his club with 92 kills and has been the focal point of their offensive attack. Dylan Annala has chipped in with 26. They have been extremely active at the net defensively as Policarpo, Hunter Jacobucci, Gustavo Bertoli and Annala have combined for 40 blocks.

The Bearcats have had a nice start to the season at 3-1 and have won three straight, coming off their bye week. They have had plenty of time to prepare for the Conference leading Avalanche to try and figure out how to best get around their blocking scheme. This is the only road trip of the month for the Bearcats before the holiday break. Their offence has been balanced and led by Noah Friesen who has a club high 38 kills.

Camosun Chargers @ VIU Mariners – Friday November 10, 8:00pm | WATCH HERE

The island rivalry heats up for the first time this season when the Mariners welcome the Chargers on Friday night. Its early but only two points separates these two schools in the standings.

After dropping their first two matches, the Chargers swept the Blues at Capilano last weekend and stay on the road to visit the Mariners. Edvard Adolfsen from Norway leads the Chargers will 31 kills through the first four matches.

The Mariners won their first match but have dropped their last three and are coming off their bye week. They took advantage of their week off to refocus and prepare to host the Chargers for their only home stand of the month. They need to find some offensive punch this weekend and start to get into a grove. Lucas Torres leads their offence with 33 kills in 14 sets.
