A pair of 1-1 teams meet for the first time this season when the Royals welcome the Mariners.
Last weekend the Royals swept the Bearcats at CBC in their first meeting, but then lost a heartbreaker the second match losing in five-sets.
The Mariners opened the season at home last weekend and took down the COTR Avalanche in their first meeting in five sets, coming back from being down 2-0. They showed great composure and gained momentum in the third set winning 26-24. The next night however the tide changed as they jumped out in front 2-0, but took their foot off the gas and allowed the Avalanche to come back to win in five-sets using a 20-18 win in the fifth.
CBC Bearcats @ Capilano Blues – Friday October 27, 8:00pm | WATCH HERE
It’s the first of four meetings between the Blues and Bearcats this season. For the Blues it’s their first match of the year after getting a bye last weekend. They will be guided by new head coach Darrin Moreira who is no stranger to Capilano as a former player and helping his club win PACWEST gold during the 2012-2013 season. He has assembled a very young squad with all but one player in their first or second year of eligibility.
The Blues will face a Bearcats team who is hungry this season and coming off a split at home with the Douglas Royals last weekend. After being swept in their first match, they stormed back in the second match to beat the Royals in five exciting sets.
