Week 3 of the PACWEST volleyball season had that sweeping feeling. Here’s what happened.
FRIDAY
Douglas Royals 3
VIU Mariners 1
After dropping the first set, the Royals stormed back to protect their home court defeating the visiting Mariners 20-25, 25-23, 25-18 and 25-19.
CBC Bearcats 3
Capilano Blues 1
The Bearcats dropped the first set, but then roared back to capture their second win of the season, beating the hometown Blues in four sets; 19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.
SATURDAY
Douglas Royals 3
VIU Mariners 0
The Royals completed the weekend sweep with a three-set sweep over the visiting Mariners on Saturday which included a third-set marathon. The Royals won 25-17, 25-21 and 35-33.
Next week the Royals (3-1) visit the COTR Avalanche (3-1) and the Mariners (1-3) enjoy a bye weekend.
CBC Bearcats 3
Capilano Blues 1
The Bearcats go on the road and sweep the Blues in their home opening weekend in four-sets. On Saturday the ‘Cats won 25-23, 21-25, 25-23 and 25-20.
Next week the Bearcats (3-1) will enjoy a bye while the Blues (0-2) host the Camosun Chargers (0-2)
