Men’s volleyball struggle on the road versus Western

LONDON – Traveling for a weekend series in London versus the Western Mustangs, the Brock Badgers men’s volleyball team struggles to find their footing as they went down in straight sets to the home side on Friday night. Set scores for the match were 24-26, 15-25, 16-25.
 
Despite a strongly competitive first set, errors quickly added up for the Badgers as they finished the three set contest with 15 total service errors and registered 21 attacking errors to just 13 for the Mustangs.
 
Brock found the bulk of their success on the interior as second-year middle Jacob Ferland was a standout performer recording 7.5 points from six kills, one ace, and one block assist. On the outside Kylar Code and Sauli Lianga added 8 and 7 points apiece.
 
Badgers third-year setter Grant Reddon guided the offence with 24 assists, while also leading the team defensively with seven digs.
 
Blake Fenwick notched a game-high 13 points for the Mustangs, finishing the night with 12 kills and two block assists.
 
Looking to move on from Friday night, the Badgers and Mustangs are right back on the court tomorrow in London with first serve scheduled for 4 p.m. The match is available to stream online via OUA.TV.
