Men’s Saturday Volleyball

CBC Bearcats @ VIU Mariners – Saturday February 18, 2:00pm | WATCH HERE

It was a marathon on Friday night when the Mariners beat the Bearcats in five sets for the third time this season. It’s been quite a seasonal series this year between these two programs.

The Mariners took the first set on Friday 25-17 before the Bearcats came right back to win the second 26-24. The third set was incredible, going back and forth before the Mariners finally took it 33-31. Instead of folding, the Bearcats came right back in the fourth set to win 25-23 but just ran out of gas in the fifth and final set as the Mariners claimed a 15-11 win.

They battle for the final time on Saturday.

The Chargers will play their final match of the regular season today against the Blues after sweeping them on Friday night 25-16, 25-20 and 25-14. Regardless of Saturday’s outcome they will be the top seed heading into the PACWEST championship tournament next weekend, hosted at the College of the Rockies.
