The Marauders swept the Lakers in three sets on Saturday afternoon in the Burridge. They finish out their weekend with two wins and improve their record to 10-4.

Leading the Marauders on offense was Sullie Sundara (Kanata, Ont.) with a staggering 16 kills, five digs and one service ace. Teammate Ana Strbac (Oakville, Ont.) also contributed nine kills and two service aces. Outside hitter Ellie Hatashita (Kanata, Ont.) had an impressive game with three service aces. Leading the defensive side was Hayley Brookes (Burlington, Ont.) with nine digs, while Christina Stratford (Burlington, Ont.) supported the offense with 23 assists.

The Marauders started out the game strong, with Hatashita winning the first point with a service ace. Coming off a dominant performance yesterday, McMaster started out strong, but the Lakers were able to catch their lead with some service aces. The teams tied up to 16-16, but then the Marauders were able to gain some momentum. Leading in the set was Sundara with five kills, Abby Delamere (Toronto, Ont.) with five digs and 10 assists from Stratford. The set was close all the way to the end, but the Marauders were able to come out on top with a score of 25-21.

The second set started out the same way the first ended, with the teams exchanging points back and forth. The teams continued to tie up until their seventh point. An ace from Hatashita mid set had the crowd roaring, as the Marauders gained a small lead. Outside hitter Maddy Lutes (Barrie, Ont.) subbed in late in the set to make some strong offensive moves, including three kills. Helping on offense, Sundara led the set with another five kills, while Strbac contributed three. Their strong offense late in the set led them to win the set 25-19.

The Marauders started out the third set with confidence on their home court. The Lakers fought to stay in the game, putting up a more competitive game than yesterday. Both teams were strong on their offensive plays, challenging each other at the net. The Marauders offense was led by Sundara with six kills and three service aces from the team. McMaster was able to hold on to their lead through to the end of the set, ultimately winning 25-20.
