Marauders prepped for contests with Lakers

Published on

HAMILTON, Ont. – With just two weekends left on the OUA volleyball schedule before the December break, the McMaster Marauders will face the Nipissing Lakers in a double-header this weekend in Burridge Gymnasium. Competition will get underway at 6pm on Friday night with the rematch set for Saturday at 4pm.

Nipissing vs McMaster
Burridge Gymnasium | Hamilton, Ont.
November 25th, 2022 @ 6pm & November 26th, 2022 @ 4pm

The Marauders and Lakers last met on February 29, 2020 in Hamilton. The maroon and grey swept that game, winning 3-0 in decisive fashion. The Nipissing Lakers are a different team than they were in 2020, winning their first-ever playoff contest last season. The Lakers have had a solid start to the 2022-23 campaign, earning three wins – two against the Lakehead Thunderwolves and one against the Guelph Gryphons – while suffering just one loss. With a 3-1 OUA record, Nipissing ranks #3 in the conference in kills per set (11.59) and sits fourth with a .200 hitting percentage. With momentum on their side, the Lakers will look to earn their first-ever win over the Marauders this weekend in Hamilton.

After starting the season with four-straight wins, the maroon and grey fell twice on the road last weekend at the hands of the TMU Bold and Brock Badgers. Sitting at a 4-2 record, McMaster pushed both the Bold and Badgers to four sets and will look to return to the win column this weekend.
