Men’s volleyball stars Colm Guyn (Lethbridge, AB/) and Liam MacArthur (Cambridge, ON) were honoured by the OUA on Wednesday afternoon for their strong campaigns with the black and gold. MacArthur was named an OUA West First-Team All-Star and All-Rookie while Guyn was named a member of the Second-Team.
MacArthur was simply outstanding in his first season with the black and gold putting down the third most kills in the OUA with 157 while having the best kills per set at 4.13. His hitting .281 hitting percentage was eighth best among OUA players while also adding 18 blocks on the season. The future is very bright for this strong hitting right side from the faculty of Math.
Guyn was named an OUA West Second-Team All-Star for the second straight season, earning the title back in the 2019-20 season. It’s his third award in his four years of competition with the Warriors, having also been named an all-rookie in 2018. Guyn was stellar in his setup of the Warriors offence all season long, finishing third in the OUA in sets with 346 on the season. His 8.65 assists per set was sixth best in the OUA. Guyn finished his career with 1,898 assists, an incredible number put up by one of the most talented setters in the history of men’s volleyball at Waterloo.
