The York University Lions women’s volleyball team travelled to London to face the Western Mustangs on Friday night in search of their first win of the season after a tough five-set loss to the McMaster Marauders last Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Despite a closely-contested opening set, the Mustangs came away victorious by a 25-21 score to take a 1-0 lead
- The Lions looked to draw even in the second set, but another tight set went the way of Western. They took the second by a score of 25-22, going up 2-0 and putting the Lions on the brink of a sweep.
- Despite a valiant from the visitors to claw back into the match, the Mustangs won the third set 25-21, and the match 3-0.
LOOKING AHEAD:
These two teams will go head-to-head once more, with the rematch scheduled for tomorrow, November 18. First serve is slated at 6:00 p.m.
