Kylee Peake did it all, then did it again for the Assiniboine Community College Cougars on the weekend.
The rookie left side led her team to back-to-back five-set wins over the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers (2-5), earning MCAC female athlete of the week.
The Russell product recorded 16 kills and four aces on Friday, then topped it with 19 and three in Saturday’s rematch.
“Kylee has had a very strong start to her rookie season,” said ACC coach Kevin Neufeld. “She is a rare six-rotation payer who most often leads our team in the back row (passing and digs) as well as the front row.”
ACC improved to 5-2 with the wins and will look to close the first semester strong on the road, visiting the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges (0-7) on Friday, then heading to Université de Saint-Boniface (0-7) on Saturday.
Meanwhile, USB hosts CMU on Friday and CMU hosts PUC on Saturday.
There’s one basketball game left on the MCAC slate for the semester as USB hosts CMU on Saturday.
