Manitoba’s Keziah Hoeppner and Brandon’s Philipp Lauter are the Canada West Volleyball Players of the Week after standout performances in the conference’s East Division over the weekend.
Hoeppner led the Bisons’ attack in Friday’s 3-1 win over crosstown rivals, the Winnipeg Wesmen, with a match-high 18 kills. The second-year Bison put home 18 kills and was a key piece of the Manitoba defence, with 15 digs.
In Saturday’s rematch, Hoeppner racked up 14 more kills to go along with six digs and a pair of aces in another 3-1 Manitoba victory.
The Bisons (2-0) hit the road this weekend to take on the Saskatchewan Huskies (0-0), Friday and Saturday. Both games will be available on Canada West TV presented by Co-op.
