The Hardy Cup Returns to Saskatoon for an All-Saskatchewan Championship Matchup
Following a one-year hiatus the Saskatchewan Huskie football team is back in the Hardy Cup. This Saturday, November 9 the Dogs will host the Regina Rams in an all-Saskatchewan Canada West championship. The 87th BioSteel Hardy Cup will mark just the second time the provincial rivals have met in the final game of the conference season, with the only other previous meeting taking place during the 2002 season. That game saw the Huskies advance to the U SPORTS Mitchell Bowl with a 44-28 victory. The game will also serve as the third meeting this year between the two programs, with the Rams taking the first game 33-28 at Mosaic Stadium before the Dogs avenged their early-season loss with a 22-20 home victory in Week 7. The Huskies are also looking to continue their winning ways, with the team having now come out on top in five consecutive games going back to late September. Adding to the dramatics of this title matchup, is the fact that both teams advanced to the game as underdogs after last-minute wins over favoured opponents. The 2024 Canada West season has been one of the most unpredictable campaigns in recent memory, and the 87th BioSteel Hardy Cup is sure to continue that trend.

Student-Athletes to Watch:
