Men’s Hockey Heads to Edmonton for a U SPORTS Top 10 Matchup
For the second time this season, the Huskie men’s hockey team heads to Edmonton for a matchup of nationally ranked teams at the Clare Drake Arena. For the No. 9-ranked Dogs, they’ll be looking to walk away with a different outcome this time around against the No. 4-ranked Golden Bears after suffering back-to-back 5-2 losses in their previous trip to Alberta. Since then, the Huskies have won five of six games, which include sweeps of Manitoba and Trinity Western on consecutive weekends.

The Golden Bears currently hold a four-point advantage over the Dogs in the East Division Standings with a near-perfect record of 11-1-0. The Huskies are 9-3-0 and will look to even things up this weekend.

Women’s Hockey Searches for First Win at Home Against Alberta
Following a much-needed bye week for the Huskie women’s hockey team, the 0-8-0-4 team will look to pick up their first win on home ice as they host the No. 6-ranked Alberta Pandas this weekend. Their previous meeting this season saw one of the better performances from the Dogs this year, dropping their first matchup in a tightly contested 2-1 game before taking Alberta to an 11-round shootout the following night.

There is no time like the present for the Huskies to get into the win column. With 16 games remaining, the Dogs can catch the Manitoba Bisons (4-3-2-1) for the final playoff spot in the East. Currently sitting 9-points back of the Bisons in 4th, the Huskies will undoubtedly be tested this weekend as the Pandas lead the division with a 6-3-3-0 record.

Men’s Volleyball Looks to Bounce Back Against Bisons at Home
Following a hard-fought weekend against the No. 1 team in the nation last weekend, the No. 8-ranked Huskies are set to return to their home court for a pair of matches against the Manitoba Bisons. The Bisons, while not ranked in the U SPORTS Top 10, sit just outside at No. 14 with a 3-5 record having seen some of Canada West’s best teams early this season. The Huskies are 3-3 and coming off a pair of narrow losses to the defending national champion, Alberta Golden Bears. The Dogs fell 3-0 and 3-1 despite being taking the Bears to the brink in nearly every set.

In their two regular season meetings with the Bisons last year, the Dogs split a pair of five-set thrillers, taking the first contest before dropping the Saturday rematch.
