Huskie Football Heads to Vancouver for Hard Cup Semifinal Against UBC Thunderbirds
For the third time in four years, the Saskatchewan Huskie football team will face off with the UBC Thunderbirds in the Hardy Cup Playoffs. It also marks the first time since the 2021 season in which the two teams will meet in the semifinal round of the postseason. In their previous two meetings the Huskies were able to come out on top, taking down the T-Birds 39-17 in the 2021 semifinals and 23-8 in the 2022 Hardy Cup. In the program’s history, this will serve as the 14th postseason meeting, dating back to 1976.

The Huskies enter their semifinal matchup with plenty of momentum coming off four consecutive wins to close out the season after a 1-3 start to the campaign. Despite their recent success, the Thunderbirds remain the only Canada West team the Huskies did not defeat in 2024, with the Dogs falling 38-24 in their lone meeting with UBC.

Stay tuned for a full playoff preview released later this week.
