FRIDAY
VIU Mariners @ Capilano Blues – Friday November 17, 8:00pm | WATCH HERE
The Mariners and Blues clash for the first time this year. The Mariners are coming of two straight five-set victories over their island rival last weekend, so confidence is high coming into Capilano. Their offence has been balanced with four players in the top 15 in kills led by Rylan Van Kooten’s 52.
It’s been a tough start for the Blues this season, finally snapping their five-match losing streak last weekend with a four-set victory at Douglas. They are at home for their next four, looking to try and turn things around heading into the holiday break.

Six matches in and two points separates these two schools in the standings, with the Bearcats in front. That said, both teams are coming off a weekend in which they got swept.
The Bearcats didn’t win a set at the College of the Rockies last week, which snapped their three-match winning streak. They are at home this weekend and next before the holiday break getting visits from both island schools. Three players are in the top six in the PACWEST in kills led by the 45 from Noah Friesen.
The Chargers are on the tail-end of six straight on the road and are 2-2 away from PISE. Those two losses came last weekend at VIU in a pair of five-set thrillers. These are their final two road matches of 2023 and won’t be back on the road until January 19th.
