KINGSTON, Ont. (Nov. 18, 2024) – Hannah Duchesneau and Reed Venning have been named the Queen’s University Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances this past weekend.
Duchesneau (Arts & Science) helped Queen’s Women’s Volleyball sweep their weekend home series against the Waterloo Warriors and improve their record on the season to 7-1.
In the Gaels’ 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 27-25) win over the Warriors on Friday night, Duchesneau finished with a team-high 10 kills while also adding five blocks and seven digs. In Queen’s 3-2 (25-23, 25-13, 20-25, 22-25, 15-12) win over Waterloo on Saturday, Duchesneau recorded another team-high 10 kills while also adding three blocks and 11 digs.
The Gaels are currently second in the OUA standings with a 7-1 record. Queen’s is on the road next weekend, visiting the York Lions in Toronto, Ont. on Friday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 23 at 4 p.m. Fans can watch both games on OUA.tv.

In Queen’s 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 30-28) win over Waterloo on Friday, Venning tied for the team-high and game-high with 10 kills, while also adding five digs. And in the Gaels’ 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-19) win over the Warriors, Venning had a game-high 16 kills with four aces and two digs.
