A trio of women’s volleyball players were honoured by the OUA on Tuesday morning for their outstanding seasons while helping the Warriors finish the season 16-4. Sarah Glynn (Fredericton, NB) and Claire Gagne (Cambridge, ON/) capped off their illustrious careers with OUA First-Team All-Star nods while Abbey Neufeld (Battleford, SK/) was named to the second-team.

For Glynn, it is the fourth time in as many seasons that she has been recognized by the OUA for her stellar play. In her first year Glynn was named the 2018-19 OUA West Rookie of the Year and then followed that up with a Player of the Year Award in 2019-20 and then a First-Team All-Star last season. This season, Glynn was unstoppable posting the best kills per set in the province at 4.08. She put away 290 kills in 19 matches while also adding 171 digs and 37 blocks. Glynn finishes her incredible career with the most kills in Warriors history with 955 kills over her four seasons.

Gagne returned for her fifth and final year after not playing last season and was on point all year long. Gagne finished with the second most assists in the OUA with 669 giving her an astounding 2,758 assists in her career. It’s the fourth time Gagne has been recognized by the league after being named to the All-Rookie team in 2017, and twice as a Second-Team All-Star in 2019 and 2020.

Neufeld earns her first OUA award with spot on the second-team. The right side hitter put away 2.5 kills per set with 115 kills in 14 matches played, finishing with the second best hiitting percentage in the province (.332). She also added 19 blocks and 44 digs on the season.
