Women’s volleyball player of the week: Olivia Julien, McMaster

Olivia Julien is the U SPORTS player of the week in women’s volleyball following a spectacular performance as she accumulated 28 kills in the Marauders’ two-game series against the Western Mustangs. Julien collected an impressive 21.5 points and 19 kills in their 3-1 win on Saturday night, which are both career highs. The rookie also had 18 digs, a block and three service aces in their weekend sweep.
The Marauders will be back in action at home on the weekend as they face TMU and the U of T Varsity Blues on Friday and Saturday respectively.
Men’s volleyball player of the week: Gavin Moes, UBC

- Hometown: Barrhead, Alta.
- Year of Eligibility: 2nd
- Academic Program: Arts
Gavin Moes is the U SPORTS player of the week in men’s volleyball after leading the Thunderbirds to a pair of wins in a matchup at the top of the national rankings over the Alberta Golden Bears. The sophomore gained 15 kills and 10 digs in their 3-1 win on Friday night followed by another solid performance on Saturday collecting 13 kills and 11 digs.
The Thunderbirds will now turn their attention to hosting the Manitoba Bisons at the War Memorial Gymnasium in Vancouver on Friday and Saturday.
