Gaels top RMC in straight sets in season opener

Queen’s Men’s Volleyball defeated the RMC Paladins in straight sets, 3-0 (25-20, 28-26, 25-18), in a battle of crosstown rivals to open the 2023-24 regular season.

Erik Siksna (Markham, Ont.) led the Gaels’ offence in the big win, finishing with a game-high 15 kills.

Nikola Mitrovic (Niagara Falls, Ont.) added six kills in the win and Zig Licis (Louisville, CO) recorded five.

Oliver Prentice (London, Ont.) had an impressive five aces for Queen’s in the win while Chris Zimmerman (Prince George, B.C.) led all players with 19 assists.

The Gaels, now 1-0 after their season-opening win, will return to the court Saturday at 8 p.m. against the Paladins again.
