NOETH YORK, Ont – Ian Eibbitt has been selected as Head Coach of Team Ontario’s boys’ indoor volleyball team for the 2025 Canada Summer Games. The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) announced the selection of the 2025 Canada Games Indoor Head Coaches on December 4th, 2022.
The Lead Assistant Coach of the McMaster men’s volleyball program has extensive knowledge of the volleyball scene in Canada. Eibbitt began his National Team journey in 2019 as the Assistant Coach for the U19 Youth National Team. He then moved onto the National Excellence Program and most recently was the Assistant Coach on the Junior National Team from 2020-2021 where he experienced a major competition at the U21 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. In addition to his National Team experience, the Marauder coach has a long history with Team Ontario including being an Assistant Coach on the gold medal winning team at the 2017 Canada Games.
Over 4,000 athletes, coaches and managers will represent their provinces and territories across 15 different sports at the 2025 Canada Summer Games that will be hosted in St. John’s, Nfld. The Canada Games are the largest multi-sport event in Canada.
Coach Eibbitt and the Marauders will return to the court in early 2023 for the second half of the North America Challenge. The maroon and grey will face Long Beach State University, a perennial NCAA volleyball powerhouse, on both January 5th and January 7th in Burridge Gymnasium. Game times are set for 8pm and 1pm, respectively. Tickets are available at www.marauders.ca/tickets.
