Cole, Arthur represent WPV on Code Drafting Team and Sub-Groups for 2015 Athlete Classification Code Review Process

The IPC has recently announced a Review of the current 2015 IPC Athlete Classification Code following a 2019 promise made by the IPC President Andrew Parsons to commence a review during his next term.

The Code Drafting Team will be led by a Paralympian, Scott Field, and it is planned that, following a long, thorough and exhaustive process lasting 3 years, implementation of the new Code will occur from 2025.

World ParaVolley President Barry Couzner OAM said:

“Congratulations to Jenni Cole and Graham Arthur who will have important roles in the review.  Jenni Cole, (who has been our leader in the classifier education field), will head up The International Standard for Classifier Personnel and Training Sub-Group and Graham Arthur (our volunteer Legal Advisor) has been appointed a member of The International Standard for Classification Data Protection Sub-Group.”

World ParaVolley is very proud of the quality of our personnel in the various fields of para sport expertise and the appointments of two of our family to this very important project by the IPC illustrates this point – we wish them well in the upcoming deliberations as the IPC strives to develop a new classification system that is “fit for purpose”.
