What an extraordinary feat of Unet e-work Busto Arsizio in the quarterfinals of the 2021 CEV Women’s Volleyball Champions League!

Italy’s Unet e-work Busto Arsizio staged an upset in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Women’s Champions League.

In the rematch in Turkey, they beat Eczacıbaşı VitrA İstanbul by a 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 28-26) and eliminated one of the favorites to win the trophy from the competition! The ‘Butterflies’ needed to claim 2 sets in this match given they prevailed by a 3-1 in the 1st leg. They completed the mission already in the first 2 sets, making a result that no one could hardly predict at the beginning of the season. Canadian Alexa Lea Gray and Serbian Jovana Stevanović scored 13 points apiece for Busto, with the latter setting up 4 blocks. Not even 7 blocks of Beyza Arıcı helped the ‘Tigers’ today. Serbian Tijana Bošković tallied 13 points.

Busto prevented the all-Turkish semifinal. They will face VakıfBank İstanbul in the top 4. The ‘Yellow-and-Blacks’ once again swept Poland’s Grupa Azoty Chemik Police. The Swede Isabelle Haak stood out on the winning side with 19 points, while Kübra Akman made 4 blocks. Agnieszka Kąkolewska and Serbian Jovana Brakočević-Canzian notched 10 points apiece for Chemik. The former included 4 blocks on her output.
