LANGLEY, British Columbia – Henry Rempel (Swift Current, Sask.) has been named Canada West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Trinity Western Spartans to a weekend split with the then No. 4 ranked Saskatchewan Huskies.
The human kinetics student displayed power and consistency while leading the Spartans to a weekend split with fifth-ranked Saskatchewan. The fourth-year outside hitter from Swift Current, Sask. tallied 17 kills with a service ace and eight digs in a 3-1 setback on Friday. He then took it up another notch on Saturday, grabbing 20 kills with no errors while adding three digs in a 3-0 victory. Rempel hit an incredible .690 percentage in Saturday’s match.
The Spartans will now be traveling to Kamloops, B.C. to take on the Thompson Rivers WolfPack for the final matches of the fall semester. Match times are set for 7:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. and can be seen live on Canadawest.tv.
