Volleyball NT (VNT) actively participates in the Arctic Winter Games (AWG) to help advance the competitiveness of Volleyball in the North. Details about the AWG can be viewed under the ‘
Coach Team NT’ tab of our website. VNT is accepting applications for the following position:
2020 Arctic Winter Games
Whitehorse, YT
- Two (2) Head Coach Indoor Volleyball Coaches (one male team/one female team)
WCSG Coach Technical requirements:
- Age of Majority;
- Volleyball Development Coach-Trained Status;
- NCCP Making Ethical Decisions
- NCCP Making Head Way
- Valid Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector check.
The roles and responsibilities of the coaching staff are, but not limited to, the following:
- Acting as an appropriate role model at all times during volleyball activities on and off the court in front of WCSG participants;
- Adhering to VNT policies, procedures and protocol;
- Overseeing the training of the athletes and offering individual training advice;
- Preparing and implementing a training regime that include both skill and fitness development which progresses throughout the Games Program.
Coaching staff will be selected based on, but not limited to, the following criteria:
- Past coaching and playing experience;
- Current coaching certification;
- Desire/intent on continuing with the NCCP coaching certification program;
- Ability to implement the Games Program set forth by VNT; and
- Valid CRC with vulnerable sector check.
