TORONTO – Finishing their fall semester schedule on the road, the Brock Badgers men’s volleyball team fell in straight sets to the No. 6 nationally ranked Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday night in Toronto. Set scores in the match were 18-25, 23-25, 18-25.
Facing off with one of the top teams in the OUA, the Badgers struggled with miscommunication leading to 20 total attacking errors in the quick three-set contest. The second set was the highlight of the match as Brock was able to push Toronto to the brink, including converting 11 kills for a .226 hitting percentage in the set.
Leading the team on the night, Kylar Code recorded 15.5 points for the Badgers from 14 kills, one service ace, and one block assist.
Brock setter Grant Reddon finished with a team-high 24 assists, while Ethan Kalef led the team defensively with 11 digs.
Toronto was paced by a game-high 23.5 points from Evan Falardeau who registered 19 kills, two aces, two solo blocks, and one block assist.
The Badgers and Varsity Blues are right back at it tomorrow afternoon from Toronto. First serve in the final match of the fall semester for Brock is scheduled for 4 p.m.
