TORONTO – The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women’s volleyball seen their two-game win streak halted, after a 3-1 (23-25, 17-25, 25-21, 20-25) loss to the University of Toronto Blues on Saturday night at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
After dropping the opening two sets of the match, the Bold responded in a big way in the third to force a fourth with a 25-21 win. But ultimately, that was as far as they could go as the Varsity Blues finished it out in the fourth-and-final frame.
The loss dropped TMU to 11-6 this season, while Toronto moved to 7-10.
Bethany Smith led the way for the Bold with 11 kills with a .435 hitting percentage, while chipping in two blocks and four digs. Scarlett Gingera also reached double-digit kills with ten of her own to go along with 11 digs.
More to come.
