Bobcats fall to MacEwan in sweep

Published on

BRANDON – The Bobcats fell in straight sets to the MacEwan Griffins Saturday night (25-23, 25-15, 25-23) and drop the weekend series as a result.

Sophomore setter Carly Thomson served the first five points of the match in BU’s favour but the Griffins sided out shortly after and set things straight in earning the weekend sweep.

The Bobcats were led by Keely Anderson who registered team-highs in kills (seven) and digs (14) on the night.

The Griffins were led by Mariah Bereziuk for the second straight night, as the second-year outside hitter finished with 16 kills and 10 digs.

The win gives the Griffins the sweep and the team’s first two wins of the season to sit at 2-8.

The Bobcats remain winless at 0-10.

The last chance to crack the win colum before the December break comes next weekend against Winnipeg.

The Bobcats will play Friday night at home against the Wesmen before heading to Winnipeg to play on Saturday.
