BLUES SWEEP LIONS IN STRAIGHT SETS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team wrapped up the fall semester with a dominant 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-19) victory over the York Lions on Sunday, December 3.
 
The Blues were able to take advantage of the Lions mistakes thanks to a disciplined approach. As opposed to York’s 48 combined errors of serve, reception, and attack, Toronto had 23 total errors. Additionally, the Blues dominated at the net recording, 5.0 total blocks through the three sets of action.
 
Leading the Blues on the night was third-year outside hitter Hunter Arulpragasam, who recorded a game high 14.5 points from 13 kills and one ace, while adding two digs. In addition, Josh Chapman stood out by recording six service aces and four kills, scoring 10.5 points overall. Also, amongst the top points for the game Jayden Talsma and Davis Young who each registered 8.5 and 8, respectively.
 
Toronto will be back on the court on Thursday (Jan. 4) night to compete against Guelph University. First serve for the match is scheduled for 8 p.m. All the action can be caught online via OUA.tv.
