The York University Lions men’s volleyball team dropped a straight sets decision to the Toronto Varsity Blues Friday night at Goldring Centre.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Toronto grabbed hold of the game early by winning the first set, but it was the tightest of the three. The Lions scored 21 points and went toe-to-toe with Toronto for the duration of the set, but Toronto strung together some points at the end of the set to seal the victory over the Lions.
The next two sets saw the Lions fall to Toronto 25-18 and 25-19, which completed the victory for Toronto.
Josh Fadare led the way for the Lions offensively with 13 kills over the course of the match.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Lions will waste no time in returning to road action, with a game in Guelph, Ont. against the Gryphons. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 26, with the game beginning at 8 pm.
