The CBC Bearcats begin a new era in Abbotsford with new head coach Kyle Pankratz. He will try to instill a culture of winning and development.
In their first two matches this season the Bearcats are 1-1 after winning a thrilling five-set match over the Douglas Royals and are hoping to use that momentum for the rest of the season and continue to be competitive.
GRADUATED:
Jake Stobbe was a big part of the Bearcats team last season with 184 kills and 233 total offensive points. He has transferred to VIU
Alex Witt collected 34 blocks and 30 service aces last season and has now transferred to University of Manitoba
Ben Francois who led the Bearcats with 198 kills has decided to stop playing
IMPACT RETURNERS:
Jonathan Letkemann (pictured) is back with the Bearcats and should be an important puzzle piece in the libero position. He made 86 digs last year and had five service aces.
Cole Scott is from London Ontario and learned some important lessons last year. He collected 18 kills and had 21 digs setting up his third year of eligibility
KEY ADDITIONS:
Troy Ardell is a local product from MEI Secondary in Abbotsford
Noah Friesen is also a local product and a graduate of MEI Secondary
Isaac James joins the Bearcats after gradating from Steveston-London Secondary in Richmond
This Friday the Bearcats will open a weekend doubleheader at Capilano.
