The Badgers leave Guelph with a pair of victories.
On Saturday, Nov. 16, the Brock Badgers women’s volleyball team took on the Guelph Gryphons at Gryphon Centre Arena in a game they won 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-16).
Second-year middle Emma Baruchelli led the Badger with 11.5 points, eight coming from kills, 2.5 blocks and one service ace.
Alaina Larochelle picked up her first career Ontario University Athletics kill in the victory.
Brock hit the court ready to play as they secured a first-set victory with the score of 25-18 thanks to a team total of 14 kills and seven attacking errors on Guelph.
In the second set, the Badgers kept the momentum going as they controlled the set by going on multiple runs to take yet another set win.
From there on, Brock closed out the contest in dominating fashion making both defensive and offensive plays with a 25-16 set victory.
Mackenna Knox had a game-high 27 assists and Emily Foest also had quite the game herself, notching four service aces to go along with eight digs and seven kills.
The Badgers finished with a .286 hitting percentage compared to the Gryphons’ .086.
Next, the Badgers travel back home to take on the No.2 ranked McMaster Marauders at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Friday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. Last season, Brock was defeated 3-0 by McMaster on Mar. 16 in the playoffs.
