The Badgers were defeated in their Friday night contest.

The Brock Badgers men’s volleyball team fell 3-0 (22-25, 23-25, 24-26) against the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Goldring Centre in Toronto.

Third-year outside hitter Devin Cooney was the points leader for the Badgers as he earned 13 points off a match-leading 13 kills.

The Badgers went down early into the first set and strung together an impressive run to bring the set within one point, but unfortunately fell 22-25 in the set.

In a back-and-forth second set Brock could not hang on as they narrowly fell short with a 23-25 set loss.

The third and final set ended 24-26 as it followed the trend of numerous lead changes as the Badgers could not mount a comeback and extend the game.

The Varsity Blues led the match with a .287 hitting percentage to the Badgers’ .250.

Adam Shapcott led the Badgers in assists with 37 and earned eight digs along the way.

Each tallying three blocks for Brock was Liam Strong and Kylar Code.

Up next, the Badgers men’s volleyball team will rematch the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. in Toronto. The game will be available to watch on OUA.tv.
