Brock opened their weekend series against McMaster with a big win.
In their first of two weekend matchups, the Brock Badgers women’s volleyball team faced the No. 8 McMaster Marauders at Bob Davis Gymnasium, winning 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-15, 25-20) on Friday, Nov. 22.
The Badgers were led by Laurin Ainsworth who recorded 14 kills, two aces and half a block totalling 16.5 points.
Emma Baruchelli led the Badgers with four kills in the first set, helping them take it 25-22.
McMaster tied the game with their own 25-22 set victory over Brock.
The third set saw the Badgers take the lead in the matchup with a commanding 25-15 win.
After some back and forth action in the middle of the set, the Badgers clinched the win with two points to end the set and win 25-20.
Emily Foest recorded 12 kills, two aces and 1.5 blocks for 15.5 points in the win, while Mackenna Knox registered a game-high 43 assists.
Brock led the Marauders in hitting percentage with .117 to McMaster’s .115.
